On October 27-28 Goris State University hosted a two-day republican conference entitled ” Syunik as a center of education and culture”, dedicated to the 55th anniversary of the university, which was attended by about 60 scientists, specialists and from 25 scientific and educational organizations of Armenia, theRepablic of Artsakh and abroad, researchers, including Vahan Davtyan, candidate of technical sciences, head of environmental programs of the Sustainable Development Investment Fund.

The aim of the conference was to bring not only Armenian studies and sociological issues of Syunik to a multilateral platform of scientific discussions, but also to point out the goals, priorities and tasks of the purposeful development of various branches of science in Syunik region.
The conference was held in 5 breakout sessions, and within the framework of the session on natural science Vahan Davtyan presented 3 reports:
1. Waste water treatment of breweries,
2. Antioxidant effect of rosehip on chocolate confectionery oil,
3. Electrochemical polishing of aluminum alloy type A0 in acidic electrolytes.

The Sustainable Development Investment Fund, on behalf of the Fund’s General Director Hayk Badalyan, congratulates teachers and students of Goris State University on the 55th anniversary of the university. Science and education are the main potential of the state and one of the key foundations for development and strengthening. In the era of modern historical and political events, it is very important and valuable to organize a conference called “Syunik as a center of education and culture”, which is a great opportunity to sum up and evaluate the achievements of our country, which has an ancient history, high educational and cultural values, in particular Tatev complex, which is a medieval complex of the Syunik world.
